A TWO-day traditional dance showcase featuring dancers from various performing groups will take place at the Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre in Kuala Lumpur from tomorrow.

Held as part of the Malaysian Dance Festival, which runs till July 10, local dance enthusiasts are in for a treat as renowned dancers in their respective fields and disciplines take centre stage. Among the pieces are Mukhari Pallavi, an Odissi number that begins with the rag murti (literally the face of the rag) that depicts male divinity by Ramli and his students from Sutra, Awaiting a Korean dance clasped in ageless anticipation and emerging surge of tidal awakening and Breaking of Dawn, a Chinese dai dance of hope (performed by Zhou and his dancers).

Tickets: RM35 (adults) and RM20 (students). Time: 8.30pm. Venue: Pentas 1, Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre, Jalan Strachan, off Jalan Ipoh, Kuala Lumpur. Call 03-4047-9000 or go to www.mydancealliance.org.
