TOWNHOUSE Gallery will be hosting Chin Kong Yee’s second solo exhibition "Cerulean Skies" from May 30.
The exhibition was inspired by Chin’s residency with the 5th Summer Academy of Modern Art Symposium, held in Turda, Romania, last May, his visits to Penang and Terengganu and his base city Kuala Lumpur.

Chin’s second show will depict striking paintings of the sea, city and land, all linked together by the cerulean sky.
Be it day time or night , the contrast between sky and land is strong, yet there is always a sense of reflection, from sky to land and back.
Seen through a fish eye lens, wonderful 360-degree visual images present seemingly ordinary scenes in an intimate way.
Since his first solo exhibition at the Townhouse Gallery in 2003, Chin’s style and use of colour has developed to a new level.
His residency in Turda had a profound effect on his outlook — works done in Europe vary slightly from those done in Asia.
Educated at the Central Academy of Art, Malaysia, Chin has exhibited in numerous exhibitions over the last seven years. He received an honourable mention at the Philip Morris Asean Art Awards 2000.
"Cerulean Skies" will run from May 30 to June 22. Viewing is by appointment only at 19A, Jalan Medang Tanduk, Bukit Bandaraya in Kuala Lumpur. Call 03-2094-3381 or 017-887-7216, or visit www.townhouse-gallery.com.
