They are Gillian Tan (lifestyle and portrait photographer), John Ishii (photojournalist), Ke Lip Yap (information and technology photographer), Nikt Wong (documentary photographer) and Tate Mario Ghazi (film director and commercial photographer).
The show, which is on at The Photographer’s Galleryin Kuala Lumpur from Friday till Sept 30, marks the gallery’s inaugural exhibition.
Comprising some of the best in their fields, the works range from a variety of discipline including fine art, portrait, celebrity, commercial and nature photography. Individually, a photograph conveys an instant, an emotion with images with humility and power.
Categorised according to their genres, the works showcase an in-depth display of rich details and tones, the very essence of black-and-white photography that makes it such a strong and powerful medium.
