WONG Kean Choon’s solo exhibition featuring 32 pieces of fine watercolour works are on display at City Art Gallery, The Ampwalk in JalanAmpang, Kuala Lumpur till July 15.
The paintings depict rural scenes and lifestyles in the country.
A graduate of Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in Singapore, the 62-year-old Wong is a recipient of various awards including the Arts Alumnus Malaysia’s Exhibition "Creative Award" in 1989 and the 1993 Pesta Laut Lumut Art Competition.

He is currently the head of the Perak Arts Society and a member of the Contemporary Malaysian Watercolourists Association.
Wong is one of the most influential and prominent painters in Malaysian Contemporary Art. He has represented Malaysia in numerous prestigious regional and international exhibitions including Thailand, Japan, Shanghai and Seoul.
A change of surroundings had given Wong the opportunity to encounter at close proximity, the unique, exotic species of everything that inspire him.
His works are not typical to that of local artists. They offer an in-depth look into our environmental heritage, combined with a measured joyful spirit that will change our perception of this genre of painting.
The paintings are on sale between RM1,300 and RM3,800.
The gallery is located at G08A, The Ampwalk, 218 Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur.
