Of wildlife and landscapes

CITY Art Gallery at The AmpWalk in Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur presents Chinese artist Yung Shing Cho’s colourful water-colour paintings depicting wildlife and landscapes.
Yung has held numerous exhibitions in China and Hong Kong and is also an accomplished calligrapher.
Born in Guangdong, China, in 1945, he learnt calligraphy at the age of 10.
At 16, he began participating in annual calligraphy and art contests in China.
He moved to Hong Kong in 1979 and took art lessons from Yang Shan Shen, a respected artist who specialised in “Lingnan” style paintings.
The exhibition marks Yung’s debut in KL. It was officiated by Deputy Home Minister Datuk Tan Chai Ho.
His 60 masterpieces depict colourful renditions of fish, chickens, ducks, wolves, pheasants, eagles and monkeys.
The paintings are priced between RM1,500 and RM18,000.
The gallery opens from 11.30am to 6.30pm daily.
