The XOAS gallery is holding a three-person show by local artists entitled Cili Padi from 22 June to 22 July. The trio comprises Md Farif Abdul Jalil, Norhaslinda Nordin and Shamsuri Mohamed.

Norhaslinda, who won the Nokia Arts Award in 2004, features works of a bygone era with her imagery of old cars. Titled "Impermanency of Life," her works are based on social comments.

Md Farif, who has just completed his 2nd solo with Art Salon, analyses the symbols of wealth and prestige via the hand-held fan.

Shamsuri's works, themed 'Therapy' are statements that refer to the vigour and passion that are inherent in each and everyone. This vigour and passion are imbued in how a person strives to gain prestige, respect and praise from his surroundings.

Gallery hours are from Monday to Friday - 10am to 6.30pm, Saturday - 10am to 5pm. The gallery is closed on Sunday and Public Holidays. Details, call 03-7955 0601
