Captivating paintings, pleasant prices

BEAUTIFUL, eye-catching paintings may be great to admire, but prospective buyers are often put off by their price tags.
Pachaasia is inviting buyers to its first art exhibition which features abstract and traditional contemporary masterpieces at affordable prices.
The exhibition ‘Sukahatiaku’ features the works of artist Farasha Osman, better known as Pacha, and guest sculpture artist Nizamsculpture which come under the theme ‘RawMetalObsession’.
It will be held from Aug 31 to Oct 8.
About 30 paintings and sculptures will be exhibited at Pachaasia’s premises in 14, Jalan SS 3/48, University Garden in Petaling Jaya.
Pacha won second prize at the Bank Negara Kijang Art Awards in 2004.
The event was judged by art connoisseurs, gallery heads and artists, such as Datuk Syed Ahmad Jamal, Dr Muliyadi Mahamood, Dr Wong Seng Tong, Zanita Anuar, Laura Fan and Rasanubari Asmaramah Baharom.
Pacha’s winning masterpiece was titled ‘Imperfect But Beautiful’. It faced 324 other entries in the Beautiful Malaysia Art Competition.
Her painting depicted ‘Malaysian Graffiti’ which she spotted along Lebuh Ampang, Kuala Lumpur.
Pacha’s works have refreshing subject placements. She makes sure viewers do not lose the core of a scene’s localised feel.
She has been painting for eight years and her paintings are collected by a few private buyers.
She also does commissioned work for paintings and murals, and applies her knowledge in feng shui, for clients who want out-of-the-ordinary paintings.
Nizam is a resident artist of Lim Kok Wing University. He has exhibited his works in many art galleries.
Pachaasia is a home art and design, music, lyrics and lifestyle studio formed by Pacha and her husband Edris Adrian.
The gallery opens daily from 11am to 6pm. Call Pacha at 019-6464-218, Edris at 019-3066-004 or 03-7877-4112.
