Bringing kindness and love to animals
NOAH'S Ark Natural Animal Shelter (Nanas) is carrying out a public awareness campaign to educate the public about the importance of treating household pets with love and care.

| WINNER: The winning cat Bella is the centre of attention at the competition; even Muar district officer Abdul Rahman Jaafar cannot resist tickling it. |
Association president Raymund Wee said Nanas had sterilised more than 6,000 cats and 500 dogs found wandering in food courts and on the streets last year.
Wee said the public should not mistreat stray animals, especially those that are sick and wounded. He said they should refer the animals to the shelter for treatment.
"Please do not vent your anger on animals or be cruel to them in any way.
"If one is cruel to animals, it is a warning sign that the individual is not healthy mentally," he said at a cat show in Muar recently.
District officer Abdul Rahman Jaffar opened the show which drew a good public response.
The show's organising chairperson, Nanas vice-president Mariam Yusof, said the mistreatment of domestic animals should be stopped immediately.
She said the shelter nursed sick animals back to health and returned them to their owners, or gave them away as pets to other people.
