More than 2,000 association members, friends and relatives, with some coming from as far as Penang, turned up at Taman Tasik Titiwangsa in Kuala Lumpur.

Stalls selling food and game booths set up at the park for the event were crowded with people.

KIOKU secretary Chris Kali Thasan said the event allowed members to interact and meet friends from other states.

"This is the first time we obtained corporate sponsorship for our event," he said.

About 200 ExxonMobil employees took the time off to stage the event.

They organised telematches, operated games stalls and served food. The company also arranged transport and donated 10 wheelchairs.

ExxonMobil general counsel Puan Sri Junaidah Mohd Said said the event was the company's way of giving back to the community.

Artistes Abdul Razak Omar Lingga and Mohd Hadzir Othman, also known as Sudirman Rembau, entertained the crowd.

Present were Human Resources Ministry deputy secretary-general (management) Mohd Azman Abd Mubin and MIC vice-president and KIOKU adviser Datuk S. Veerasingam.
