Two of them were killed on the spot, while the third was pronounced dead on arrival at Sultanah Aminah Hospital.

The victims were identified as Raymong Silo, 25, and Duncon Jampai, 39, both from Sarawak, and A. Rajakanda, 55, from Taman Rinting, Masai, Johor Baru.

Police investigations revealed that the 6.30am accident happened when one of the motorcyclists was hit from behind by a car.

The impact of the collision sent the motorcycle crashing into the other two vehicles. All three victims were on their way to work in Singapore.

The 27-year-old car driver, who escaped injuries, was detained to facilitate investigations.

It was also learnt that after the victims had fallen onto the road, they were hit by several vehicles travelling in both directions.

Johor Baru (South) traffic police chief Deputy Superintendent Ooi Kok Seong urged witnesses of the incident to call the district headquarters' traffic division at 07-2277566 or the nearest police station.
