AMERICAN band Daughtry is all set to rock for the first time on July 26, as part of the Sony Ericsson Traffic Jam Street Party tour.

The unique and exciting street party will be held at 1 Utama, Central Car Park Avenue in Petaling Jaya from 7pm onwards and is limited to 3,000 party-goers only!

Daughtry is an American Music Award-winning and Grammy-nominated rock band which is fronted by the bald-headed North Carolina-born Chris Daughtry (who got his break on American Idol). Its debut album sold more than four million copies and was named the number one selling album of 2007 by Billboard.

Fans of the local music scene will also be thrilled to know that some of the hottest Malaysian bands will be sharing the stage with Daughtry.

“Traffic Jam is an important platform to showcase Malaysia’s music talents as it would provide them with an opportunity to promote their music to a wider audience,” said Eric Goh, general manager of Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications.
Party-goers can also enjoy lots of fun-filled activities and games as well as a chance to win Sony Ericsson mobile phones, accessories, shopping vouchers and more.

But here’s the catch. The money-can’t-buy invitations to the exclusive street party will only be available through the purchase of Sony Ericsson’s W350i, W580i or W910i Walkman handphones.

Customers just need to bring along the redemption voucher (given when the handphone is purchased), original warranty card and proof of purchase to participating Sony Ericsson stores to make the exchange. Tickets offered by each store are in limited quantities therefore, it is strictly while stock lasts.

That’s not all. During the promotion, the three selected Sony Ericsson Walkman phones will feature exclusive Daughtry content. Upon purchase of the Walkman phones, customers will be receiving Daughtry’s album.

Fans will also be given the chance to meet their idol up close and personal by participating in the Meet & Greet contest, exclusively for 100 fans only.

There will also be VIP tickets to party and hampers to be won.

Partners for Sony Ericsson’s Traffic Jam Street Party include Sony BMG Music Entertainment Malaysia, 1 Utama Shopping Centre and One World Hotel.
