KUALA LUMPUR: Proton dealers do not believe that it can cost more than RM100,000 annually to maintain the Perdana Executive V6.
Proton Edar Dealers' Association Malaysia (PEDA) president Wan Ahmad Sepwan Wan Abd Rahman claimed there could be "something fishy" about the bills.
PEDA which represents more than 180 dealers said new Proton models are given full warranty for the first two years.
"We hope that there is a thorough investigation to ensure that the repairs were made by honest parties and that the state government was not over-charged.
"Whatever it is, don't insult Proton as an excuse to buy a more expensive car," he said in a statement.
Meanwhile, Gerakan also lambasted the Terengganu government for spending RM3.43 million on 14 Mercedes Benz E200 Kompressors.
Party vice-president Datuk Dr S. Vijayaratnam said the decision "smacks of power abuse".
