Counsel N. Sankara Nair said the representation would be made in the next few days, although he doubted that a decision would be made before the case is mentioned on Sept 10.

Sankara said the defence felt there was no case against Anwar.

The lawyer also said despite several attempts, police did not give Anwar the first information report which led to the investigation into the sodomy allegation. "The report could have been tampered with."

As a result, Sankara said Anwar did not know what was the exact nature of the offence until yesterday morning when he was charged.

Sankara said the defence was now legally entitled to documents which prosecution would present in court.

"We are entitled to get statements given by witnesses to police, medical reports and the police report."

On the proceedings, Sankara said they were satisfied as bail was offered.
