INCOME TAX: Nothing but praise for the staff

AFTER reading so many letters criticising the Inland Revenue Board, I would like to say something in its support.

For the past few years, I have been trying to get my refunds, without any success. However, in March, I came across an email address on its website. It belonged to an IRB officer. I wrote to her, seeking help.

Within a few days, I received a reply and she promised to look into my file. Within a fortnight, my wife and I received our refunds.

My fear and dislike of going to a government department disappeared after I went to the Ipoh IRB office to do e-filing on April 29.

There was a large crowd but the officers were friendly, helpful and efficient. There were no signs of any haughtiness which I had encountered in another government department some years ago.
So I would like to say thank you to my Internet friend from the IRB as well as her colleagues in Ipoh.
