I AM a pensioner afflicted with an illness that requires a costly drug to treat. Unfortunately, this drug is not available in the government hospitals.
I was advised to buy it myself and claim a refund from the Pension Department.
Due to financial constraints, I could only afford to buy the drug on three occasions. I attached the relevant documents and submitted my claim for refund to the Pension Department.
The claim was duly processed by the department and the refunds given to me without much delay.
Who says there is no caring government department?
I am grateful to all the staff involved in my case for their efficiency, sympathy and help.
