ONE reason why many people do not put mini flags on their cars ("Fly the flag, KLites" -- NST, Aug 27) is because they are not distributed free this year, unlike in previous years where corporate groups and financial institutions distributed them to the public, even though they cost less than RM5 each in hypermarkets and convenience stores.

What a shame. I do not see a single car with the mini flag whenever I head for home using the Jalan Pahang and Sentul/Karak Highway.

I have mine on my vehicle.

Some might give the excuse that patriotism does not mean that one has to fly the Jalur Gemilang.

However, we celebrate Mer-deka Day only once a year.
