KUALA LUMPUR: Blogger Raja Petra Kamaruddin yesterday denied that the statutory declaration (SD) made by a doctor at Pusrawi Hospital on the sodomy case against opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, "originated" from the website, Malaysia Today.
Raja Petra, who is the editor of the website, was summoned to the Federal Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID) headquarters in Bukit Perdana to have his statement recorded pertaining to the SD.
Accompanied by his lawyer Amarjeet Singh, Raja Petra entered the building about 9.40am and came out about 11.20am.
His wife and some 20 supporters waited outside the building while his statement was recorded.
Raja Petra said he had merely "re-posted" the SD on Malaysia Today, after taking it from another website which had originally posted it.
"The SD was taken from a website called imageshack. So, I am not guilty of publishing the article first-hand," he said.
Raja Petra said the police mainly questioned him about his connection with Malaysia Today.
"They asked whether I owned the website or was I responsible in deciding what was published in it. My reply to all their questions were 'not relevant'.
"I told the police I did not own Malaysia Today and asked them to question its real owner or those who own the website where the SD was originally posted. I'm willing to face this case in court."
He added that he was also questioned on his relationship with Dr Mohamed Osman Abdul Hamid, the Pusrawi Hospital doctor who made the sworn statement.
