SHAH ALAM: Four people were injured when a trailer lorry, laden with steel coils, slammed into a charter bus, along Km4.8 of the New Klang Valley Expressway yesterday.
The bus and lorry drivers, along with two female bus passengers, suffered minor injuries.
The bus was ferrying 38 Klang-based insurance agents for a sales seminar in Penang, when the accident occurred at 10am.
Insurance agent Kamal Abdullah, 59, said both vehicles were travelling parallel along the highway, when the lorry suddenly swerved and hit the bus.
The lorry smashed into the front passenger door and passengers had to alight from the bus using the emergency exit.
Kamal said his two female colleagues and the bus driver escaped with minor injuries, while the lorry driver suffered a fractured leg.
They were treated at a private hospital in Klang.
Police had to halt traffic several times to allow tow trucks to remove the vehicles and clear the steel coils scattered on the highway.
