PUTRAJAYA: Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin attended the 214th meeting of the Conference of Rulers at Istana Melawati here today.

He was accompanied by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.

The two-day meeting, which ends today, was chaired by the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah.

Keeper of the Rulers' Seal Engku Tan Sri Ibrahim Engku Ngah said in a statement that the meeting discussed matters relating to defence, security, economy, religion, the petrol-eum industry and Petronas' role as well as appointments.

All the rulers and Yang Dipertua Negeri were present except for the Sultan of Pahang, Sultan of Johor and Sultan of Terengganu who sent their representatives. -- Bernama
