KUALA LUMPUR: It was yet another milestone for the Tunku Azizah Fertility Foundation (TAFF) as it helped a childless couple welcome their first bundle of joy.

Sabarina Mohd Sabri, 33, gave birth to a healthy baby boy at the Darul Ehsan Medical Centre, yesterday morning. Little Luqman Hakim is the 36th in-vitro fertilisation (IVF) baby born with assistance from TAAF.

Sabarina and her husband Khairul Nizam Anuar, 35, have been trying for a child for 11 years.

Sharing the new parents' joy was TAFF founder Tengku Puan Pahang Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah Sultan Iskandar who said that every baby born under TAFF's programme reminded her of her own ordeal before she became a doting mother of six.

Tunku Azizah went through six miscarriages and 15 fertility treatments before she conceived her first child.
She launched TAFF in 1995 to sponsor treatments for selected childless couple.

Since its inception, TAFF has helped 171 couples conceive their first child through various private fertility clinics nationwide.
