A GROUP of MPs from Sabah and Sarawak yesterday pledged their support to the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and the Barisan Nasional.
They said they were tired of the never-ending rumours about the possiblity of Sabah and Sarawak BN members crossing over to Pakatan Rakyat.
Unity, Culture, Arts and Heritage Minister, Datuk Shafie Apdal said they were undivided in their loyalty and support for the BN.
"We are now preparing a formal pledge which will be initialled by all Sabah and Sarawak Barisan Nasional MPs.
"We hope to present it to the prime minister over the next few days," Shafie said at a press conference in the lobby.
He was joined by 20 other members.
Sarawak and Sabah have 56 parliamentary seats.
He said Pakatan Rakyat had been fabricating the issue on cross-overs by BN MPs.
"It's a lie. Our stand is very firm, very clear.
We are not commodities that can be easily bought or sold," he added.
The pledge, he added, was made to reaffirm statements by Sabah and Sarawak chief ministers earlier that none of the MPs from their states would cross over to Pakatan Rakyat.
"The people had given their mandate to us to develop and make changes to the constituencies.
"Their trust and belief in us cannot be traded," Shafie said.
