MINUTES after Sports Minister Datuk Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced an allocation of RM2 million for the Equestrian Association of Malaysia (EAM), its annual general meeting (AGM) turned into a battle ground, leading to president Datuk Seri Dr Jamaludin Jargis adjourning the meeting yesterday.

Jamaludin based his decision on the disputes in the interpretation of nominations for the elections and will consult Sports Commissioner Datuk Nik Mahmud Nik Yusof on the next course of action.

Several delegates, including Datuk Abdul Razak Latif who offered himself for the president's post, disputed EAM's decision to reject candidates.

Aziah Abdullah and Zahidi Ma'mor Razak were nominated for the secretary and treasurer posts respectively but their nominations were rejected on the basis that their club is not affiliated with EAM.

The two candidates re-submitted their nomination papers under a registered club but they were again rejected as it was after the July 10 deadline.
