I THINK that the idea of having the Royal Malay Regiment to guard Buckingham Palace and Queen Elizabeth is ridiculous and a waste of Malaysian taxpayers' money.

Our soldiers should guard Istana Negara and the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, not Buckingham Palace and Queen Elizabeth.

When Canadian, Australian and Jamaican soldiers were given the privilege, it is all right as they consider Queen Elizabeth as their head of state.

We have our Yang di-Pertuan Agong, so why are we wasting RM1.5 million to guard the Queen?

We do not need this type of publicity.
