IN investPenang's efforts to attract and convince foreign companies to invest in Penang, it was noted that potential investors consider and evaluate different locations using a range of factors.

These include the availability of fiscal and non-fiscal incentives; availability of quality infrastructure, including developed industrial land; availability of the right human capital; quick and decisive support from the government; provision of utilities; and the cost of doing business.

Treating investors' information with the strictest confidentiality is one of investPenang's principles. investPenang and state and federal agencies, including the Malaysian Industrial Development Authority, are collaborating closely to attract Samsung to Penang. As far as our authorities are aware, Samsung has not announced its decision to set up a plant.

As a pro-business and apolitical organisation, investPenang continuously looks into ways to improve facilities for investors and welcomes all feedback and suggestions on improving the investment climate in Penang.
