LAST month, I was at the service counter of a certain financial institution in Kuala Lumpur to settle my monthly car loan repayment.
As always, upon completion of the transaction, I checked the customer's slip to make sure that all details were correctly keyed in by the counter clerk.
On this particular day, I was shocked when I noticed that the details -- name, account numbers and vehicle numbers -- were incorrectly printed except for the amount.
I pointed this out to the clerk and the discrepancies were rectified immediately. Before leaving the counter, I warned her to be extra careful in future.
I then made an informal report to her superior without naming her. I hope that she will be more careful the next time.
I would like to advise banks' customers to verify their customers' deposit slips before leaving the counters unless they prefer the hassle of making a second trip to the banks.
