MALACCA: SJK (T) Kubu Malacca successfully raised RM330,000 for its reconstruction project, thanks to the generosity of the state government and public donors.
The funds will be used to build new classrooms.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Ali Rustam said yesterday the government was doing its best to ensure vernacular schools were taken care of.
"A nation is built by individuals who acquire a good education and a conducive environment is vital for the students to perform.
"I am pleased to see the effort and enthusiasm to preserve the school for the betterment of the next generation."
Human Resources Minister Datuk Dr S. Subramaniam and Anthony Manimaran of Maruwa Malaysia also contributed RM100,000 each.
Students who did well academically were given cash awards.
