KUALA LUMPUR: Robbery and assault victim Lee Hui Fun, who was left for dead after being stabbed several times on Friday, is slowly recovering from her ordeal.

Her sister-in-law, May Sim, 30, said Lee had regained consciousness and could recognise visitors.

"She has started taking liquids through a feeding tube," she said at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Hospital (HUKM) yesterday.

According to May, Lee had at least seven stab wounds on her back.

Patrolling policemen found Lee, 33, unconscious about 9.40am on Friday near the police college in Jalan Maktab, Cheras.
She was rushed to HUKM, where she underwent surgery.

Lee, who works as a clerk in Jalan Sultan Ismail, was assaulted and robbed when she took a taxi from her house in Pandan Indah to the LRT station, to get to her workplace.

The suspect, in his 30s, was apprehended in Jalan Pahang by the public and car repossessors.

Kajang police chief Assistant Commissioner Shakaruddin Che Mood said the suspect was expected to be remanded today. "We are also looking for another man, in his 30s, to assist investigations," he said.
