KOTA BARU: The state Anti-Corruption Agency (ACA) yesterday raided the state Fisheries Department at Wisma Persekutuan in Jalan Bayam, here in connection with an alleged bribery case involving a Federal Government project.
Besides seizing documents, ACA officers also recorded statements from a senior fisheries officer and his staff.
Sources said ACA officers arrived at the department about 2.30pm and spent about three hours there.
"The ACA officers were sent after getting a report a week ago alleging there was corruption in issuing the tender for a fisheries project," a source said.
State ACA director Mohd Jaafar Husin confirmed the case but declined to comment.
"We will wait until the investigations are completed and get instructions from headquarters before commenting," he said.
