Murder motive may be revenge

SEREMBAN: A man who was shot at point-blank range at the Taman Rasah Jaya Flats here on Saturday may have been murdered out of revenge.

Police are also looking at the possibility that the 42-year-old was killed after an order to banish him to Kerian, Perak, under the Restricted Residence Act, was recently lifted.

Abdullah Ali was shot in his left eye and died on the spot at a massage parlour on the building's lower ground floor.

"I believe the motive is revenge and because the victim's banishment order was lifted a month ago," said state Criminal Investigation Department chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zaki Masroh .

"We are still looking at his past criminal records and trying to determine who was out to seek revenge against him," Mohd Zaki said, adding that two suspects were involved in the murder.
He urged those with information to call the nearest police station.
