RM8.09m for victims in China and Myanmar

KUALA LUMPUR: The government will contribute US$2.5 million (RM8.09 million) in aid for victims of cyclone Nargis in Myanmar and the earthquake in China.

Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim said US$1.5 million would be given to the Chinese government through its ambassador here soon, while the balance would be handed to Myanmar Foreign Minister Nyan Win at the Asean Foreign Ministers Meeting in Singapore on May 19.
