PEKAN: Two people were killed while three others injured in two separate accidents yesterday.

In the first accident, 50-year-old Nik Azizah Nik Abdullah died on the spot when a four-wheel drive rammed into the Proton Waja she was travelling in.

Three others in the car were seriously injured. They were driver Md Noor Jaafar, 65; his wife Nik Hasnah Nik Mohamad, 60, and her younger sister Nik Ramlah, 59.

They were on their way home to Kota Baru after attending a friend's funeral in Jelebu, Negri Sembilan. The accident happened at Km77 of Jalan Kuantan-Segamat.

In the other incident in Maran , Mohd Fikri Norzilan, 22, was killed when his Perodua Kancil crashed into an express bus at Km97.5 of Jalan Kuantan-Kuala Lumpur at noon.
The contractor from Kuala Sentul died on the spot.

Maran district police chief Deputy Superintendent Ahmad Johari Shahabudin said the victim was apparently overtaking a friend's car when his car crashed into the bus.
