MALAYSIAN Danny Chia offered no excuses as he bowed out of the British Open yesterday.
The Asian Tour stalwart was out of sorts at wind-swept Royal Birkdale and stumbled to a frustrating 87, 11 shots higher than his opening round 76 at the year's third major.
"I had a bad start and hit it so badly today. With the conditions as they were, you can't get away with it," said Danny.
"I lost my concentration on some holes and this course will get at you if you don't hit it well."
Danny, who missed the cut by two strokes in his debut at St Andrews in 2005, had six double bogeys and five bogeys and admitted that he did not have any excuse for his poor showing.
"I didn't want to play so many over par but at one stage, I just tried to keep going but couldn't do so.
"It was tough conditions and I have to learn to accept my mistakes and not make things worse. I've got no excuse today, I just played really bad. This is probably my worst score in my last five years."
