TERMS & CONDITIONS

Scholarship Features

  1. The value of each scholarship shall be RM10,000 or more by way of waiver of tuition fee.
  2. All courses must be undertaken and completed in Malaysia.
  3. The scholarships are for different types of courses in terms of disciplines and levels.
  4. Scholarships available are for the following levels of study :
    1. Diploma and Certificate courses
    2. Degree courses
    3. Post Graduate Courses
  1. The duration of courses range from 1 to 4 years
  2. Students are allowed to apply to more than one institution but only one scholarship offer will be made.
  3. The scholarship programme will be for intakes in 2008, subjected to availability
  4. Applicants may apply to participating institutions based on their forecast result. However the award of scholarship shall only be made on receipt of the detail results.

Criteria

  1. To be eligible for the scholarship programme, applicants must meet the following general requirements :
    1. Applicants must be Malaysian citizens.
    2. Applicants must possess good academic results in SPM/‘O’ Level, UEC and/or STPM/‘A’ Level examinations or equivalent.
    3. Applicants must qualify to gain admission to the participating institution for the relevant course.
    4. Applicants must be active in sports and/or co-curricular activities.
    5. Applicants must possess leadership qualities and be self motivated.
    6. Applicants must be financially deserving.
    7. Applicants must not already be in receipt of any scholarships, financial aid or award from other educational institutions or organizations.
    8. Applicants must abide by the terms and conditions of the NST Learning Curve Scholarship Fund.
    9. Applicants must abide by all other terms and conditions of the awarding institution, including any bond required.

Terms & Conditions

  1. The scholarship shall be in the form of full tuition fee waiver for the entire duration of the course in Malaysia.
  2. The scholarship is for students to pursue courses at the participating institution.
  3. The scholarship shall be for the duration of the course and maybe between one to four years. Students already enrolled at participating institutions may also apply. Such students' scholarship shall be for the remaining part of their course.
  4. The NST Learning Curve Scholarship Fund holder shall not receive any scholarship offered by other educational institutions or organisations.
  5. On all matters pertaining to NST Learning Curve Scholarship Fund, the decision(s) of NST Learning Curve Scholarship Fund Awarding Committee (and relevant participating institution, as appropriate) shall be final and binding.
  6. Applicants may apply for scholarships to a maximum of two institutions, but are entitled to only one scholarship. Scholarship recipients are also subject to other terms and conditions as may be decided by the participating institutions.
  7. Terms and conditions of the NST Learning Curve Scholarship Fund may be modified and amended from time to time as deemed appropriate by the NST Learning Curve Scholarship Fund Awarding Committee.
  8. Scholarship holders must pass all examinations and maintain good academic standing; participate in the institution's sports, co-curricular and other activities in order to maintain their scholarship status in the participating institution.
  9. The NST Learning Curve Scholarship Fund Awarding Committee and participating institutions reserve the right to review scholarships awarded on a yearly basis. In exceptional cases scholarships may be withdrawn at anytime in the event of gross misconduct or failure to meet the required academic grades.
  10. The information, especially relating to courses and programmes, in this and other relevant documents are correct at the time of publication. Applicants should enquire from participating institutions for any updated information.
  11. In the event the student withdraws from the course in Malaysia before completion, the participating institution may require the student to reimburse the full tuition fees waived.
  12. Successful applicants shall sign the offer letter for the scholarship and/or acceptance form.
  13. Applicants shall not at anytime during the course, hold any other scholarships, awards etc except with the express written consent from the participating institutions.
  14. Applicants should be or are deemed to be aware of the details of the course(s) applied for and also the terms and conditions of the scholarship and all rules and regulations governing the said course(s).

Bond

  1. The participating institution has the right to bond scholarship recipients upon successful completion of their studies. This is optional to the Institution. Should the institution wish to bond the successful candidate, this shall be made known to, and agreed by, the candidate prior to the commencement of the course. The bond period shall be reasonable in relation to the value of the scholarship.
  2. A copy of the bond agreement should be sent to the NST Learning Curve Scholarship Fund Awarding Committee for endorsement.
