THE Legend International College of Hospitality and Tourism recently feted 33 orphans from Asrama Baitul Ummah of Taman Setapak Indah, Kuala Lumpur to a buka puasa buffet at its premises at The Mall Shopping Complex, also in the city.
The youngest child was five years old and the oldest, 14.
The orphans and their two supervisors were treated to a sumptuous meal specially prepared by 25 Culinary Arts and Hospitality and Tourism Management students. Lots of delicacies were prepared including salad, curry chicken and dessert but the Black Forest cake and chocolate brownies were great favourites with the children.
This is the first time the college students had organised such an event for orphans at its premises.
The parents of Diploma in Culinary Arts student Mohd Haniff Mohd Rodzi contributed duit raya of RM10 each to the orphans.
The young guests also received
duit raya from Metroplex Holdings Sdn Bhd Leisure Division President Mandy Chew. She also donated cash to the orphanage.
