KUALA LUMPUR: Blogger Raja Petra Kamaruddin was questioned for more than two hours at the Sentul police headquarters yesterday regarding the statutory declaration he made on June 18.
He arrived at the police headquarters at 5.05pm, accompanied by his lawyer, Segambut Member of Parliament Lim Lip Eng, and did not emerge until 7.45pm.
After greeting some 100 supporters, all dressed in yellow T-shirts with his picture printed on them, he told reporters police had called him in to have his statement recorded, following a report lodged by the Attorney-General's Chambers two days after he had acclaimed the declaration in the High Court.
The report lodged, he said, was for allegedly making a false declaration.
Raja Petra said the investigating officer had asked him to reveal the source behind the information contained in his declaration. However, he said he declined to do so as it would put his source at risk.
While Raja Petra was still being interviewed, Selangor local government, study and research committee chairman Ronnie Liu went into the station to see him after being allowed to do so by the investigating officer.
Parti Keadilan Rakyat information chief and Batu MP Tian Chua arrived at 7.15pm to support Raja Petra.
Earlier, in Langkawi, Bernama reported Umno Youth deputy chief Khairy Jamaluddin said he was leaving it to his lawyer to decide whether it was appropriate to take action against Raja Petra for alleging he was in possession of a military report on the matter.
Khairy denied having received the report.
