KUALA LUMPUR: About 5,000 armed forces veterans will gather at the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) on Sept 21 under a "Veterans Walk of Peace" programme to mark the International Day of Peace.

Malaysian Armed For-ces Veterans Council president Datuk Abdul Hamid Ibrahim said at least nine organisations of armed forces veterans and several social and sports groups representing veterans of the armed forces would take part in the gathering.

Abdul Hamid said Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak was expected to deliver a keynote address at the gathering. -- Bernama
