KOTA BARU: The Pesta Nasi 100, which showcases Kelantan's traditional gastronomic delights, is back for the fifth time and it is bigger and better than ever.

The three-day event, which is being held in conjunction with Visit Kelantan Year, was launched yesterday by Tengku Temenggong Kelantan Tengku Muhammad Fakhry Petra.

This year, the organiser, Kelantan Tourism Association (KTA), has put together more than 180 types of rice and 150 types of traditional cakes.

KTA chairman Nik Aman Nik Mohamed said Sabah, Sarawak and Pahang were also taking part for the first time this year.

Sabah is presenting its traditional nasi daun sampit, Sarawak its Bario rice coffee and Pahang its lemang periok kera. Visitors can enjoy a wide range of local cuisine and delicacies from more than 17 local hotels and restaurants.
