Adelaide University in Australia will name one of the buildings in Lincoln College after Dr Abraham in a ceremony on Friday.
Dr Abraham died aged 78 in October last year, shortly after he was diagnosed with leukaemia.
A former Colombo Plan scholar, he graduated from Lincoln College in 1959 with a medical degree.
In 1995, he received the Distinguished Alumni Award from his alma mater in recognition of "profound and sustained services to the health of the children of the world".
Back home, Dr Abraham was involved in the formation of the Malaysian Paediatric Association (MPA).
He started a project under MPA to help the urban poor in Kampung Tun H.S. Lee in Sentul, near here, in the 1970s by having a voluntary clinic run by paediatricians on rotation.
He also set up the Johor Baru Spastic Centre when he was posted there as a paediatrician between 1965 and 1975.
In 1991, he helped set up Dignity and Services, a non-governmental organisation that focuses on the rights of people with learning disabilities.
Fourteen years ago, Dr Abraham was recognised as the Outstanding Asian Paediatrician at the 8th Asian Congress which was held in New Dehli, India.
Dr Abraham is survived by his wife, Datin Dulcie Abraham, and three daughters.
