Abdullah Ali was talking to a masseuse when the gunman entered the premises at 1.45pm, coolly walked up to him and fired a single shot before escaping in a car.
State Criminal Investigation Department chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zaki Masroh said the man, who was shot in the left eye, died on the spot.
"Besides the gunman, there were a few other masked men in the getaway car, a maroon Honda Civic," he said at the crime scene.
Mohd Zaki said police would take statements from the masseuse and the victim's family.
"We have yet to establish the motive for the murder and the victim's background. We do not know if the victim was a regular customer at the massage parlour."
