State police chief Datuk Mohd Mokhtar Mohd Shariff said Johor police were now waiting for the Chemistry Department to complete its investigation before forwarding them to the Attorney-General's Chambers for further action.
Meanwhile, the two men aged 23 and 40 arrested in connection with the case at a roadblock in Jasin on Aug 15 will be brought to court in Malacca first.
"Their current remand order will end on Wednesday, so we will have to see whether they are to be charged in Malacca by then," said Mohd Mokhtar.
He said whether or not the duo were charged in Malacca, they would most likely face a charge in Johor.
He was speaking at the launch of the state-level Crime Prevention Month at the a mall here yesterday.
The two suspects were apprehended after one of them tried to bribe policemen manning the roadblock with RM450 to let them go.
They were originally flagged down for speeding at Km185 of the North-South Expressway near Jasin in Malacca, but police found a quantity of liquid and powder believed to be syabu in the car.
Further investigations led police to the discovery of more liquid syabu and drug-processing equipment at the 40-year-old suspect's apartment in Johor Jaya here.
There are now 16 people, including seven police personnel, in custody in connection with the syabu theft on July 31.
