He said the umbrella body representing public sector employees could instead appeal to the government to reconsider the demands that were not met in the budget announcement.

"Each time there is a budget, we can't get everything that we seek," he told reporters after handing over Ramadan aid to 211 mosques and surau in the Pekan district here yesterday, .

"Last year, Cuepacs (members) received a high salary hike, which was the highest in history but they did not get a bonus," Najib said.

This year the government decided that civil servants get a bonus instead, he added.

Najib said Cuepacs should consider the government's capability in meeting its demands.

Speaking at a padi harvesting and winnowing ceremony and handing of Jalur Gemilang at Sekolah Kebangsaan Sri Maulana later, Najib said in tabling the budget, the government had taken into consideration the needs of the people.

"In fact you can say that no community has been left out," he said.

Najib, who also launched the school's Batik Club for its special students, said the allowance for special education students would be increased from RM50 to RM150.

"This shows that the government has not forgotten the needs of the less fortunate."
