Cricket: Pakistan get better of Australia

TEAM "Pakistan" emerged champions of the Milo-SportsUnite 10-16 cricket tournament at the Kajang High School ground last weekend.

The eight teams, featuring 100 schoolchildren, were named after Test playing nations.

Pakistan defeated Australia by 10 wickets in a rain shortened one-sided final. Australia scored 32 runs for the loss of five wickets in five overs while Pakistan reached the target of 33 runs without loss.

The two-day tournament was held in conjunction with the 51st Merdeka celebrations and was supported by Kajang Cricketers Club and Hulu Langat Education Department.

Other sponsors were AEON Jusco, Guardian Ventures and Mitraz Promotion.
C. Nisyan Raj was named the best batsman, Azuan Idris was the pick of the bowlers, Mahendran the top fielder, S. Vinoth the safest wicketkeeper, Amiruddin Azahar the number one all rounder while Nur Asyraf was the most promising player.
