FOURTEEN-year-old H'ng Yuan Jun's gallant run in the National Under-21 Snooker Championships came to an end in the final, when he was edged 3-2 by Mohamad Azraf Yunos of Negri Sembilan at the Season Snooker Centre in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.

In the best of five-frame final, Mohamad, 20, took a 2-0 (31-26, 73-2) lead and needed only another frame to win the title.

However, the Penang-born Yuan Jun stunned Mohamad by nailing the next two 73-26, 65-1, to force a deciding frame.

But the much experienced Mohamad tightened his game and won the decider 79-38 to take home the winner's purse of RM1,000.

Yuan Jun picked up RM500 for his efforts.
In the semi-finals, Mohamad beat Kedah's Azrin Shah 3-0 while Yuan Jun swept past Kuala Lumpur's Benjamin Lee 3-0.

Azrin defeated Benjamin to take third position.
