I FINISHED paying the installments on my housing loan in April after 25 years. I decided to redeem the title of my house from the housing loan department in Putrajaya.

I called the general line 03-88802000 and was asked to dial one to six to be connected to other sections.

I tried all the sections. The phone was never picked up.

After calling for 15 minutes, I finally spoke to a woman who was kind enough to give me a host of direct lines: Zawiyah (03-88802172), Siti Noraishah (03-88802782), Yang Aini (03-88802169) and Marzuki (03-88802604) of different sections.

I called these numbers. Again, not once did anyone pick up the phone.
After having been through this, I wonder whether government agencies have improved on their delivery system.
