THIS year, Sungei Wang Plaza in Jalan Sultan Ismail, Kuala Lumpur, turns 30.
To mark its anniversary celebration, the Sungei Wang Plaza 30th Anniversary Concert will be held at 8pm on Saturday at the fourth floor open car park of the shopping centre.
Sungei Wang Plaza promotions and public relations manager K. K. Lim said the concert was held to reward shoppers for their support.
"This is the first time we are organising a grand and entertaining concert, and we are expecting 10,000 guests," he said.
The free concert will be hosted by three disc jockeys (DJs) namely May, Loke and KK from the 988 radio station. The deejays will be giving away goodie bags. There will also be party games with the audience before the performances.
Chinese artistes, local and international, will be performing. The foreign artistes are Hins Cheung from China, Huang Yi Da (Singapore) and 2moro (Taiwan), while the local artistes are Lin Yu Zhong, Daniel Lee, Johnson Wee, Buddy, Stella Chung, WHY and Chan Kwok Fai.
Cheung, 26, from Guangzhou, China is a talented singer and composer. He is based in Hong Kong and is famous for his album My Way. Cheung is also an actor who has appeared in the films Love Is Not All Around and Dancing Lion.
Huang has released two albums and has won awards from Taiwan, Hong Kong and China. His hit songs are Blue Sky and My Anonymous Babe.
2moro is a Taiwanese boy band, whose members are twins Anthony and Angus Guo. The former models are also talented actors, who are making their first visit to Malaysia.
Lin, the spokesman of Sony Cybershot is a talented singer and composer. Currently based in Taiwan, Lin won Best Newcomer in Hong Kong’s Golden Melody Awards.
Daniel was the champion of the second season of Malaysian Idol held in 2005 and has just released his first album. His second, titled Because Of Love is in the pipeline.
Wee, 23, is the winner of Project Superstar and has also acted in the 8TV Chinese drama Sky alongside Daniel, and fellow reality show talents Mei Sim of Project Superstar and Bing Bing of I Wanna Be A Model.
The concert is presented by Celcom with 988 as the official radio station.
