PETALING JAYA: There were 40 pieces of women's clothing in a box next to the torso of a woman found in a drain by the Federal Highway near Kelana Jaya on Monday.
Police yesterday showed the clothes believed to belong to the victim at a press conference.
They are now hoping that someone will recognise the clothing and come forward to provide more information on the victim.
Petaling Jaya police chief Assistant Commissioner Arjunaidi Mohamed said no one had come forward to lodge a missing person report about the woman.
He said the victim's waist size was 28cm and her height between 154cm and 158cm, based on the clothing.
"We are still not sure if the torso belonged to a local or foreigner," he said, adding that some of the clothing had bloodstains on it.
Arjunaidi also did not know when the DNA test results on the body parts would be ready.
"The DNA test will take a while," Arjunaidi said, adding that as soon as the results were out, they would match it with the leg that was found in a dumpster on Sunday in Salak South Garden.
Initial investigations revealed that the torso was that of a woman, aged between 20 and 30.
Police urge those with any information to contact the nearest police station.
