PETALING JAYA: The man who walked away after his multi purpose vehicle (MPV) landed on a Perodua Kancil killing three family members on Tuesday has tested positive for drugs.

Police have remanded the 33-year-old pending investigations after the test yesterday.

Sepang police chief Zahedi Ayob said the driver was picked up from his house in Puchong Permai several hours after the accident.

"We will remand him for a few days. We are taking his statement.

"We have also taken statements from several witnesses at the scene."
Zahedi said the suspect was a supervisor at a small firm in Puchong.

The 2pm accident saw the three killed when the Naza Ria landed on their car after going over a curb in Puchong Perdana.

Minun Aman, 52, and her children, Nor Hidayu and Mohd Azmi Abdul Jalil, 23 and 34, respectively, died on the spot in the incident at Km15 Jalan Meranti Jaya.

It took firemen 20 minutes to extricate the bodies.

Witnesses said the driver of the Naza Ria had limped away without so much as a glance at the wrecked car.

They told police that the MPV was speeding when it hit the curb, causing the vehicle to veer into the opposite lane.

The family was on their way to a cemetery to pay their last respects to a relative when the accident occurred.
