GEORGE TOWN: Penang Umno will seek feedback from its grassroots members and local leaders on weaknesses which led to its candidate, Datuk Arif Shah Omar Shah losing the Permatang Pauh by-election.
State Umno liaison committee deputy chairman Datuk Seri Abdul Rashid Abdullah said the main weakness could be in some of Barisan Nasional's policies, which were not widely accepted by the people.
He said another weakness could be in the party's election machinery.
"It could also have been our delivery system or the way we executed our tasks."
Abdul Rashid said the state Umno accepted the decision of voters. However, he expressed disappointment at the way PKR supporters acted throughout the by-election period.
