GEORGE TOWN: The Penang Hill funicular railway will resume service by the middle of next month once the faulty cables have been replaced.
The service has been disrupted since June.
State Public Works, Utilities and Transportation Committee chairman Lim Hock Seng said the state government had bought German-made replacement cables, expected to arrive within two weeks and that it would take about a week to install them.
"We can expect the hill railway service to resume after that, just in time for the year-end holiday season."
