KUALA LUMPUR: The five teenagers thought she was easy prey and planned to rob her when she left her house.
Armed with a parang, they stalked the 17-year-old victim from her house in Kampung Pandan and pounced on her just before she reached a row of shops in the 9.30pm incident on Monday.
They grabbed her and one of them held a parang to her neck and demanded that she hand over her money.
The victim managed to cleverly twist her arm away from her captors and pushed one of them to the ground before she ran to the Kampung Pandan police station and reported the matter.
Cheras police chief Assistant Commissioner Ahmad Amir Mohd Hashim said the teenagers were aged between 15 and 17.
He said the victim was able to identify the youths from their clothes.
"We managed to track the group down.
"One of the officers was attacked with the parang but the police team managed to overcome them."
